Message

Dear 41NBC News,

I’m a loyal listener of your TV station. I’m writing you today regarding your coverage for this Election season and what I’d like to see going forward that’ll make sure that viewers with disabilities like myself are informed regarding a candidate’s stance on policies related to disability rights.

As you may be aware, 41NBC/WMGT interviews candidates for different positions, such as State Representatives, State Senators, etc. What I’ve noticed is the tough questions isn’t being asked to these candidates directly. These tough questions are related to people living with disabilities and how it’ll impact them in the future.

Some questions that you can ask these candidates may include, but not limited to the following:

  • What’s your stance regarding improving the lives of people with disabilities?
  • If you’re elected into office, what are your plans regarding improving the lives of people with disabilities in your community?
  • If you’re elected into the Georgia Assembly, what are your priorities for people with disabilities in your District?
  • If disability rights are under attack on the State level or on the Federal level, will you stand up for people with disabilities?

These questions are starting points. You can also come up with other questions as well.

If you have any questions, please let me know by replying to this email or call me with the phone number that’s located in the signature.

Thank you.

Respectfully,
Armando Vias
Community Advocate
