Have you recently used Groome Transportation to get to and from the airport? Have you gotten frustrated because you weren’t able to navigate their website due to accessibility issues using screen-reading software, and you ended up calling your local Groome Transportation office to book over the phone? I have some wonderful news to share with you!
Thanks to my advocacy efforts, Groome Transportation has partnered with Aira, meaning that you can now book your reservations online at groometransportation.com instead of having to call your local Groome Transportation office to pay a higher price just to reserve a shuttle. This means that you can use Aira’s services at no cost to you to reserve a shuttle, view schedules, navigate the website, and so on.
Using The GroomeTransportation.com’s Access Offer
Here’s how you can take advantage of the GroomeTransportation.com’s access offer via the Aira App. We’ll be using VoiceOver for this article.
- If you haven’t already, download the Aira Explorer App from the Apple App Store.
- Login or signup with your Aira Explorer account.
- On the home screen, double-tap on the “Browse Access Offers” button.
- You have two options to find the Access Offer:
- In the “Search Access Offers” text field, you can type in “Groome” to easily find it. Double-tap on “Search” below the delete key on your iPhone’s keyboard when you’re done typing. VoiceOver will then tell you that it found one Access Offer. Double-tap on “GroomeTransportation.com” under the “Promotions & Partners” heading in the search results.
- Or, from the “Browse Access Offers” screen, double-tap on the “Promotions & Partners” button and scroll down until VoiceOver says, “GroomeTransportation.com.”
- On the next screen, you’ll find two buttons. Double-tap on the “Apply Offer” button to apply this Access Offer to your Aira Explorer account.
You can now call an Aira Agent and use TeamViewer where you’re able to reserve your shuttle online at groometransportation.com. If you don’t have TeamViewer on your computer, you can install it from ninite.com/accessible.

This is a step in the right direction to make Groome Transportation more accessible for blind individuals like myself. There will be more accessibility improvements coming in the future to the website to make it more easier for screen-reader users to navigate and to reserve their shuttle for a future trip to and from the airport.
